Project overview
The planning for the Your Voice project started back in 2020. The project then began fully in early 2021 and ran until the 31st March 2026. We are proud of what we have achieved throughout the project and the disability awareness that arose because it. Even though the project, has now come to and end, this webpage will act as a celebration and directory to continue our advocacy support in this area.
The project was funded by NHS England and the team were employed by Inclusion Gloucestershire.
From early 2021 until March 2025 Your Voice ran a Learning Disability Network and a Neurodiverse network, bringing together individuals and self-advocacy groups from across the South West. These online meetings were run by and for Experts by Experience and feedback from these meetings was presented to the NHS, to help promote change in disability health care.
In 2025, our learning disability network came to an end and the primary focus of the project was the Neurodiverse network. From 2025, to March 2026 we have hosted a series of webinars for the NHS health professionals on the topic of Autism. This were presented from the viewpoints of our experts by experience and neurodiverse network.

Our Neurodiverse Network
Our Neurodiverse network meetings have provided a safe space for autistic people, who don’t have a learning disability, but who may also be neurodivergent in other ways, to share experiences and discuss issues that were and are important to them.
Having a group such as ours was particularly important, as autistic people without a learning disability find they can ‘fall through the gaps’ in services or discover that services have not been designed for autistic people.
The concept of self-advocacy is newer to the autistic community, than other communities.
As well as discussing issues that were important to the group, members helped coproduce a series of live webinars designed for healthcare professionals to increase their knowledge and understanding about neurodiversity and reasonable adjustments in healthcare.
The team hosted the following webinars:
You can watch recording of all our webinars on the Inclusion Gloucestershire YouTube channel
